I’m Charlotte Allen and I started my time at Harley in 6th grade. At Harley, I found a community dispersed with caring teachers, unlike anything I had seen at other schools. By the time I reached Upper School, I noticed this school became more like a family to me. Many of my teachers have helped me grow my passions in the classroom such as DV’s AP Biology class and Dr. Dolan’s AP Psychology class. DV and Dolan not only helped ignite my love for these subjects even further, but they also taught me how to value my love for learning. While I will miss seeing and conversing with my peers and close teachers, I know that my teachers have helped prepare me for my future outside of Harley. I will be studying Biology and Psychology at Allegheny College for the class of 2025! I can’t wait to further my interest in these subjects but also dive deeper into Environmental Science and Women’s and Gender Studies. As my time at Harley comes to a close, I remember all the teachers that have given me more than I could have asked for, the joy in learning.
A fun fact about me is that I have completed over 700 hours of community service during my time in the Upper School! A piece of advice to underclassmen: join Key Club if you want to participate in a variety of service activities for your community! In and outside of Key Club, community service has been a constant for me and something I have found a lot of value in committing my time to, I’d definitely encourage you to try it out and have fun with it!
